FATHER: Volodymyr Borys, age 54, has a high school education and worked as a steel worker in   Ukraine. He does not speak or understand English, but speaks his native language of Ukrainian. Over the next few days, he must begin looking for jobs. YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED.

MOTHER: Emiliya Borys, age 52. Like her husband, has a high school education but she did not work in Ukraine. She does not speak or understand English, but speaks her native language of Ukrainian. He might make connections within his religious community for leads on employment through this network, but nothing is secure. YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED.

Uncle: Sergiy Borys, age 35. Like his brother, has a high school education and worked as a painter in Ukraine. He does not speak or understand English but speaks his native language, Ukrainian. He has a responsibility to look after the children in the home or find work.  YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED.

SON: Yuri Borys, age 17.  Like his sister, attended school off and on while in Ukraine but has no school records. He does not speak or understand English upon arrival to the US but they have become comfortable with conversational English since entering school. They speak their native language, Ukrainian. He is responsible for watching after any other children in the home. He has been infected with tuberculosis during the journey over and will need to seek medical attention soon. YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED.

DAUGHTER: Sonia Borys, age 16. She attended school off and on while in Ukraine but has no school records. She does not speak or understand much English but she is starting to learn, and she speaks her native language, Ukrainian.  YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED.
